Sugarwork appoints Eric Chu as Chief Product & Technology Officer

We’re excited to announce the appointment of Eric Chu as Chief Product & Technology Officer, Sugarwork. Eric will lead Sugarwork's product, engineering and technology functions as the platform scales into enterprise deployments.

Eric Chu, Chief Product & Technology Officer

Based in New York, Eric brings more than two decades of engineering leadership across regulated enterprise and venture-backed scaleups. He joins Sugarwork from AbbVie, where as Executive Director of Engineering at Allergan Aesthetics he led software architecture, domain engineering, core platform services, and data and AI services for one of the world's largest pharmaceutical groups. He was also selected for AbbVie's Accelerated Development Program for high performing executives.

Prior to this, Eric served as CTO of Fevo, the venture-backed B2B social commerce platform, scaling engineering from MVP to a team of 35 across 10 cities and supporting 300+ partners across the NBA, NHL, NFL, MLB and MLS.

Eric Chu, Chief Product & Technology Officer, Sugarwork

"Sugarwork is solving the problem at the foundation of enterprise AI: most organisations don't have a clear, structured view of how they actually operate. The platform Vanessa and the team have built captures that hidden 80% of operational knowledge in a way that is genuinely usable - by people, by AI, and by the agentic systems being built on top of it. I'm joining at the moment when that capability moves from breakthrough to enterprise scale, and I couldn't be more energised by what's ahead."

Outlook

Sugarwork's thesis has been consistently validated since its 2022 founding: institutional knowledge lives in people's heads, and the invisible 80% of how a business actually operates is exactly what enterprise AI needs in order to deliver. Customers including Appen (70% reduction in onboarding time) and an USD $800M Nasdaq-listed medtech firm, have already demonstrated the value of structured tacit knowledge capture, and Sugarwork's client base now spans financial services, manufacturing, healthcare and professional services.

Eric joins at a pivotal moment. Following Sugarwork's acquisition by Decidr AI Industries in January 2026, the platform now operates on two complementary fronts - as a standalone discovery and transformation product helping enterprises prepare for AI adoption, and as the activation layer embedded inside the DecidrOS onboarding experience. Eric's mandate is to scale the product, engineering and platform foundations required to support both: enterprise-grade architecture, data and AI services, and the deep integration work that turns tacit knowledge into structured intelligence DecidrOS can act on. His track record of building regulated enterprise platforms at AbbVie and scaling venture-backed engineering organisations at Fevo is precisely the combination Sugarwork's next chapter requires.
